The rooftop terrace is brilliant, with loungers and a huge hot tub, and a great view of the bay over the rooftops. You can get a drink at reception and take it up there, a great place to spend an evening. We chose a more basic room as we were only there for one night, but it had everything we could need including a small kitchenette. Would recommend paying for their private car park as roads around are quite narrow

We stayed for a short break with our dog. The management and staff were extremely accommodating and so friendly. The location is wonderful, and lovely, quiet neighborhood walking distance to the sea and restaurants. Street parking was easy, the room was lovely and the terrace perfect. We also enjoyed the roof terrace where we could bring drinks purchased from the réception. Would highly recommend this charming hotel.

We stayed at the hotel for New Year and had a most enjoyable time. The receptionist gave us a selection of restaurants to dine at for New Year's Eve and very kindly booked once we had decided where we wanted to go. The hotel is close to the sea and is walking distance to the centre of Arcachon. Our room was on the 2nd floor and was spacious and comfortable The hotel has car parking (charged) but free car parking is available on the street. Good choice at breakfast. There is a small bar where you can buy drinks but probably wouldn't spend much time at.

We stopped here during off-season for a look at Arcachon, and found it to be an excellent hotel choice, even though it is a bit of a walk to the main ocean-front area. Wonderful private hot tub that you can book by the half hour, friendly staff, and a very nice beautifully decorated room in the typically (small ) French style.

We really enjoyed the stay in this hotel. It is located close to the railway station (10 min by foot) and close to the sea-side promenade. Sauna with jacuzzi is a great bonus after a day of trips and walks.

Hotel was very clean, on a quiet street. A bit of a walk to the main area of town but a pleasant one. We were only there for one night and I think the room would start to feel a bit too compact after more than two nights. That being said I think we had a smaller room on the ground floor and there are larger rooms available. Clean, convenient and a very comfortable bed but not luxurious if you are looking for a hotel to spend a little more relaxation time in.

We only stayed one night but were pleasantly surprised how lovely this hotel was. Super friendly staff on reception. 2 lifts in the hotel. We were 3rd floor with a balcony and room was extremely clean, Visuals toiletries, tea and coffee making facilities, good hairdryer so everything we needed. Had view of Bassin from the room and patio doors with a small balcony. OK if I was to moan the balcony needed a little work but I can't deduct a point for that. I also base my views on how much we paid and this was a super hotel for the money. Breakfast could not fault, so much choice and the lady worked very hard to keep everything plentiful. Went up to top floor and had lovely seating area but rained so didn't use. We would return without hesitation. Just a quick note this is a little further out of the town but still in walking distance, allow about 10 mins but walk is lovely especially along the beach.

We booked an overnight stop here as we wanted to visit the Great Dune of Pilat. There are closer hotels to the dune, but this proved to be a really comfortable and relaxing stopover, and it got us exploring the town and the port. As soon as we entered the hotel, everything seemed bright and airy. The room (standard, with balcony) was large and comfortable, immaculately clean, with lots of nice touches like tea and coffee, robes, slippers, nice Rituals toiletries, and an additional set of doors between the room and the hallway to keep out any corridor noise. Our balcony overlooked the car park, but it was perfect for a sundowner as it was quiet and peaceful. There was a jacuzzi down in the basement which was free to use though you need to book in advance. It wasn't particularly hot, but it was nice to be able to have it to yourself for an hour. The location is a little bit out of town (5 mins by car to the centre of Arcachon; about 40 mins to the Great Dune of Pilat if you take the scenic route, and 15 mins otherwise), but in a really nice area, and parking was easy as everywhere round the hotel seemed to be free. The marina is very close and the walk to the town along the beach in the day was great. The dune though is unmissable!

The room is a little small. For a 4 star hotel there could be more features. It’s not directly connected with the beaches eather. It’s a good hotel to stay for ashorter period of time to visit the neighborhood.

Stayed in this place for a couple of nights. Good if you have a hire car as there is plenty of safe, free on street parking nearby (no need to use their paid car park). Rooms are bright with a nautical theme. All facilities work well and are clean. We eschewed the expensive and basic breakfast for our own supermarket fare. Rooms facing street have a nice little balcony. Service was friendly and helpful. It is at least a 15 min walk up into the main centre of town, but it is a pleasant walk and there are restaurants nearby. It is not far to the main boating marina, so could be a good option in on-shoring from a boat.

Very clean room, comfortable bed and located in a quiet part of the town. Room a bit on the small side but there is a fridge, microwave and double hob, which all take up space. We were on the ground floor facing the road but it wasn't noisy. I would come back again but would choose a room with a balcony for a bit more space. Good value for money

We were there only for a night, on a Friday night. Room was big, very clean and really calm. We slept very well. It was easy to park the car on the street. Breakfast and coffee were amazing, lots of choice. There is a spa in the hotel, we didn't use it but there is one. Price for the room was in the average I think. The only thing, we arrived early in the morning and couldn't get the room before 3pm but we could put our luggage at the reception. Staff is not that easy to deal with but still, our stay there was worth the money. Not located close to the city center. You have to walk but it's beautiful.

I joined my friend here on a business trip and really enjoyed my stay. The room was big and light, and perfect for me to work out of. Bathroom all very clean and spacious and a great breakfast spread too.

Modern and nicely decorated but not a 4 stars hotel!!! the rooms is slightly bigger than the bed (around 10m2). Decent Breakfast but not what you would expect in a 4 stars if the hotel had been 2 stars I would have put

Appears to have been recently refurbished. Light clean rooms and welcoming staff. About 20 minutes walk to the centre but only 10 minutes to the beach and marina. Good breakfast and other comments referring to the dungeon are petty and incorrect. Some traffic noise in the front rooms but did not disturb our sleep on a very comfortable bed.

We stayed here for a long weekend in October on a special deal price. The room on the 3rd floor had a nice sea view over the rooftops. There is a small balcony with a table and two chairs and a sliding blind to allow shade at all stages of the sun. The room is well designed with just about enough storage for a short stay. The bed (180 x 200) was comfortable.and the bedlinen of a high quality. There is a small refrigerater in the wardrobe (big enojugh to add our own items). There is also a safe in the wardrobe. The bathroom is spacious and big enough for two to use at the same time, with lots of room for toiletries and some storage. The shower is nice with a monsoon type shower head and a second shower head if you don't want to wet your hair. There is also a magnifying mirror attached to the wall. The hairdryer was efficient. The toilet is separate. There is no restaurant in the hotel but they offer a service of heating ,meals (that you buy at the reception). There is a small spa which you sign up for (max 2 rooms at a time), with a sauna, jacuzzi and some keep fit equipment. We used this every day and it was delightful. The 4th floor is a solarium with views to the sea and inland to the Ville d'Hiver. There are lots of sunloungers and an open air shower to cool off. We went up every night to see the stars and the lights shining from the other side of the Bassin d'Arcachon (Cap Ferret). We stored our bicyles in the private car park area (on a bike rack which was not secured to the ground, but the car park is fairly secure). You can park your car in the car park for 10€ a night but there was plenty of free parking on the street. The breakfast was OK. The breakfast room is in the basement without outside windows and in very small so guests were trying to wiggle around each other to get to the various food stations. The hotel is walking distance to restaurants and food shops, and easily walkable to the centre of Arcachon. We had a really relaxing stay here with every comfort taken care of.

I stayed at the Grand Atlantic Hotel (which is grand in spirit but not in stature) on a Thursday and Friday night in July and was pleased with my choice. I had never visited Arcachon before, so really had no idea what to expect. It was in auspicious start when the front desk called me while I waited in London for my flight to Bordeaux to inform me that the front desk would be closed since I was arriving late. However, not to worry, they clearly explained the after hours check in procedures. When I arrived, it was all just as they explained, and I found my way to my very small (the bed took up most of the room), but renovated and well appointed room. I parked on the street both nights. It was not difficult at all to find a parking space a short walk away. The front desk did explain the next morning that there were spaces available in the hotel's lot at EUR 10 per night, but it did not seem necessary. The breakfast buffet in the basement dining room (more pleasant than it sounds since there is much natural light) was excellent, perhaps the best I have ever had in a French hotel. The brioche tasted almost home baked without the bland industrial taste that bread and brioche often have in larger hotels. There was a complimentary drink served on the roof top terrace each evening. For dinner, It was quite easy to walk to the port area of Aiguillon where there is much choice of restaurants. Front desk were top quality and multilingual. I highly recommend the Grand Atlantic Hotel for a solo traveller or a couple who are comfortable in a confined space.

The modern aspect of this hotel (largely refurbished, clean and light) made it a very pleasant place to stay. It is within 5 minutes walk of a lovely beach and boat harbour, 15 minutes (on foot) from the centre of town via the boardwalk along the beach. There are some very good restaurants nearby. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the rooms' amenities excellent with good-sized bathrooms and showers. The car park is copious although the €10 per day charge is an imposition. The breakfast was excellent (and included in the price). The major downside was the size of the room: it was just about OK for one person, but for two it would have been really difficult with little storage space at all, and virtually no horizontal surface. OK, in Arcachon you don't sit in your hotel room all day, but even so, it was VERY small, and that reduces the value-for-money aspect of the hotel. Reception closed at 11.00 pm which meant there was nobody about to control guests who were partying outside on the hotel's terrasse until the small hours. When I booked, my reservation said "room with sea view" - not so. There seemed to be a suggestion that I had been "upgraded" - to a tiny room with no sea view! Not quite what one expects. But that's life; I enjoyed the hotel!!

I enjoyed my stay in Grand Atlantic Hotel. Staff were polite, helpful and professional. And although sometimes they were not able to address my query they anyway always tried to find a solution and help me. The hotel is furnished tastefully, elegant and well-positioned in Arcachon - it is a 10 minutes walk to the beach as well as to the railway station. My room, small though, was lovely, bright and super-clean with good furniture, a little balcony and an amazing (the best so far) bed and beddings! The only disadvantage was that sometimes I heard cleaning ladies in the corridor and found this a little bit disturbing. Also, an advice for those who prefer 24-hours service, including restaurant and bar: you will not find this in Grand Atlantic Hotel as the reception closes at 11 pm and there is no restaurant at the hotel. The breakfast was good. However, the very place where the breakfast was served was small and sometimes there were not enough tables for all guests and some had to wait when the table became vacant. In general, I would definitely recommend Grand Atlantic Hotel to anyone who prefers calm holidays and who values privacy and comfort.

Short pre-season break. We didn't want town centre as it was coming up for a public holiday when France gets a bit "busy" so we opted for the Grand Atlantic on the edge of town. Still an easy walk, either via the streets or on the boardwalk along the sand to town and sea front restaurants and bars. Easy to find, recently refurbished, parking, roof terrace and a small spa/fitness centre. All very neat and clean with friendly and welcoming staff. Very comfortable room and quiet!Breakfast was good and there was a limited room service whereby you bought a packaged meal (we didn't) and heated it for yourself.

Hotel is close to the beach and a small port, but in nice calm district. It is 20-30 min walk from the centre, but you have a picturesque walk on promenade beside beach and ocean. A room was quite small, but on other hand very cosy and had a balcony with a table and chairs. Bathroom was spacy and a shower the best I have had in any hotel. All facilities in the room that you need: tea/coffee, bathrobe, slippers... It is pity that I did not have any time to enjoy in sun terrace on the roof with beautiful view to the ocean. Very delicious breakfast that you can enjoy in a small terrace (few tables are outside). Lovely welcome cocktail and a cute small farewell gift were something exertional!
